Precision Heat Treatment Process for 17NiCrMoS6-4 (1.6569) Forgings
Our 17NiCrMoS6-4 forgings are processed by carburization at 880–980°C, followed by direct or double hardening with oil and polymer quenching, and low-temperature tempering at 150–200°C. So that they will have surface hardness of 58–62 HRC and core hardness of 30–40 HRC.
We have a fully controlled precision heat treatment process in our more than 10 dedicated heat treatment furnaces:
Carburization: 880 – 980 °C, Air Cooling
Direct Hardening: 810 – 850 °C, Oil/Polymer/Warm Bath Quenching
Double Hardening: 830 – 870 °C (Core) + 780 – 820 °C (Case), Oil/Polymer Quenching
Tempering: 150 – 200 °C (Min. 1 Hour Hold), Air Cooling
Sub-zero Treatment: Optional, for enhanced dimensional stability
Stress Relieving: Available for precision machined components
