11CrMo9-10 Steel Heat Treatment Process
Heat treatment is a critical process to make sure the mechanical properties, microstructure stability, and long service life of 1.7383 forgings. Below is our standard heat treatment process.
- Normalizing: Heating to 900–950°C, holding for enough time based on section thickness, and air cooling to refine grain structure and relieve internal stress
- Quenching: Heating to 920–960°C, holding for appropriate time to ensure uniform austenitization, and quenching in oil or forced air
- Tempering: Heating to 650–750°C, holding for sufficient time, and controlled cooling to adjust mechanical properties, eliminate quenching stress, and improve toughness
- Stress Relief Annealing: Optional process for large and complex forgings to further eliminate residual stress and improve dimensional stability
- Custom heat treatment processes available according to specific technical requirements
