Inconel X750 (UNS N07750, Alloy X750) is a premium precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium alloy that is mainly used in extreme high-temperature, corrosion, and oxidation resistance. As a leading China-based forged parts manufacturer headquartered in Jiangyin, Jiangsu, we can produce super alloy UNS N07750 forged parts, custom forgings, seamless rolled rings, forged discs, and round bars for global clients in the power generation, oil & gas, nuclear energy, and aerospace .
What is Inconel X750 (UNS N07750 / Alloy X750)?
Since Inconel X750 material has strong high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and fatigue stability up to 704°C (1300°F), it is the best choice of nickel-based alloys for critical components in extreme working environments. It can withstand high corrosion and oxidation resistance in harsh industrial conditions, including acidic, high-pressure, and marine environments.
Our UNS N07750 forgings are manufactured by strict advanced melting, open die forging, and proper heat treatment processes, fully in accordance with international standards including ASTM B637, AMS 5667, AMS 5668, and EN 2.4669. This ensures that these material products have consistent, reliable performance even in many critical working conditions.

Manufacturing & Heat Treatment Process for UNS N07750 Forgings Forgings
Our strict manufacturing process ensures that all our finished Alloy X750 products products have consistent material properties, structural integrity, and performance:
- Advanced Melting: Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) + Electroslag Remelting (ESR), with 30t EAF, LF, VOD smelting support for ultra-clean material and uniform chemical composition
- Precision Forging: Forging ratio ≥4:1 using 2000T-6300T hydraulic presses and 1T-9T electro-hydraulic hammers to help all forged material have fine grain flow and great mechanical strength
- Controlled Heat Treatment: Solution heat treatment at 982°C (1800°F), followed by stabilization and double precipitation hardening to achieve high-temperature strength and creep resistance
- Strict grain flow and hardness control throughout the full production process
- Comprehensive in-house inspection: chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing, metallographic testing, and full NDT inspection (UT, MT, PT, RT) available as required
These strict production processes ensure that our UNS N07750 forgings meet all required tensile, hardness, and microstructure requirements for all our overseas clients.
Common Technical Challenges & Our Solutions for UNS N07750 Forgings Production Forgings Production
As a high-alloy precipitation-hardened nickel superalloy, Inconel X750 has extremely strict requirements for forging process control. Below are the 6 most common technical challenges in mass production, to guarantee that all our forged material can be 100% according to ASTM B637, AMS 5667 standards and have great mechanical property.
1. Narrow Hot Forging Temperature & High Crack Risk
Main Problem Point: High content of Al/Ti/Nb strengthening elements make this material have 3x higher flow stress than other standard stainless steel, with a forging temperature of only 950℃-1150℃. Overheating causes grain coarsening, while underheating leads to surface cracks, the main reason of scrapping.
- Step-type uniform heating: 600-800℃ preheating, 1100-1140℃ optimal initial forging temperature, ±5℃ precision temperature control
- 15%-25% single reduction, final forging temperature strictly controlled ≥950℃ to avoid low plasticity zone
- Special high-temperature glass lubricant to reduce friction and heat loss during forging
2. Poor Grain Uniformity & Mixed Grain Defects
Main problem Point: Grain size directly determines fatigue life and creep resistance, aerospace/nuclear applications require ≥ ASTM 4 grade with no mixed grain. Defects are mainly caused by 2%-10% critical deformation, overheating, and unreasonable final forging process.
- More time of forging: ≥30% large reduction for blanking to break coarse as-cast grains
- Finish forging strictly avoids critical deformation, single reduction ≥12% for full dynamic recrystallization
- Solution temperature suitable forging structure to inhibit secondary grain coarsening
3. Mechanical Properties Difference After Heat Treatment
Main problem Point: The main strengthening mechanism of this precipitation-hardened alloy is γ' phase precipitation. Minor parameter fluctuations will directly affect γ' phase morphology, leading to large deviations in strength, plasticity and creep performance, failing mass production requirements.
- Normal heat treatment way: solution treatment + stabilization + double aging fixed process
- ±5℃ furnace temperature uniformity control, fixed charging quantity and placement rules for each batch
- Same-batch furnace test pieces, performance qualification before subsequent processing
4. Surface & Internal Defects & Low NDT Pass Rate
Main problem Point: Aerospace/nuclear applications require 100% UT/MT/PT pass. Original forged blank defects, scale pressing, forging folds, and stress cracks will cause NDT inspections to fail, which is the main reason why finished products don't pass all Non-Destructive Testing.
- 100% UT/MT inspection before forging, 2-5mm surface peeling to eliminate subcutaneous defects
- Improve forging metal flow to avoid folding, timely scale cleaning during forging
- Immediate slow cooling + stress relief annealing after forging to avoid delayed cracks
6. Special Requirements for Nuclear & Aerospace Grade Forgings
Main problem Point: Nuclear grade forgings need to be able to resist stress corrosion cracking very well, while aerospace grade parts need to be able to resist creep and fatigue at high temperatures for a long time. Normal Production processes cannot meet these strict requirements .
- Nuclear grade: Strict harmful element control in melting raw material, low solution + long aging process to ensure that the forged material has grain boundary carbide morphology
- Aerospace grade: Large deformation forging + precise heat treatment to obtain fine grain size
- Full Prodution control in accordance with RCC-M, ASME, AMS aerospace and nuclear standards
