To get good mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, all FV520B turbine blades and forged parts need to follow the 3-stage heat treatment cycle as per AMS 5773E:

Step 1 – Solution Treatment

Heat to 1050°C
Air cool to room temperature

⚗️
Step 2 – 1st Precipitation

Heat to 750°C
Hold 2 hours → Air cool

Step 3 – Final Precipitation

Heat to 550°C
Hold 2 hours → Air cool
