Wide Uses of Our Forged Shafts In Global Industries

Industries Served

Our forging steel shafts are widely used in different industries: oil and gas exploration and production, machinery manufacturing, gear production, aerospace and aviation, energy and power generation (thermal, hydro, nuclear), defense, automotive, heavy industry, general metalworking, petroleum and chemical processing, mining and mineral extraction, engine and turbine manufacturing, shipbuilding and marine, construction, fabricated metal products, pulp and paper, food processing, electric motor manufacturing, pelletizing and compacting, cement production, and railways.

Global Cases

Oil & Gas — Middle East

We have supplied high-strength alloy steel forged shafts for wellhead equipment and downhole tools to major oil and gas projects in the Middle East. Our forged pump shafts and mandrel shafts have good corrosion resistance and tensile strength even in high-pressure and high-temperature (HPHT) downhole environments. They are manufactured per API 6A standards and they have a service life 30% longer than industry-standard alternatives.

Wind Power — Asia & Europe

Our wind turbine forged shafts are widely used in onshore and offshore wind farms in Asia and Europe. We produce 15-metre-long rotor shafts with a maximum diameter of 1800 mm, manufactured from high-strength alloy steel with strict grain size control (ASTM E112 Grade 5 or finer) to get good fatigue resistance and stable performance under extreme wind loads with over 20 years of service life.

Marine & Shipbuilding — Europe & Southeast Asia

We have delivered forged marine propeller shafts and turbocharger shafts to international shipbuilding companies in Europe and Southeast Asia. Our forged ship shafts, made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel and nickel alloys, are accordance with marine society standards. They can work well in the hard water environments for commercial vessels, offshore platforms, and naval ships.

Power Generation — Asia

Our turbine generator forged shafts are main parts for thermal power, hydroelectric, and nuclear power plants across Asia. The heavy-duty rotor shafts we produce can weigh up to 30 tons, with full set of traceable material from steel melting to final machining. We will do strict ultrasonic testing (per ASTM A388) and inspection of the mechanical properties on the shafts to make sure they can work stably under continuous high-temperature and high-speed working conditions.

Mining — Australia & South America

We supply heavy-duty forged roller shafts and mill shafts to large mining companies in Australia and South America. Our forged mining is made of wear-resistant alloy steel which can withstand the heavy impact and abrasive conditions in pelletizing, compacting and cement production equipment, thereby reducing the frequency of maintenance and increasing the service life of the equipment.

Aerospace & Defense — Europe

Our forged shafts, manufactured per AMS and military standards, are supplied to European aerospace and defense contractors. We produce gear shafts and pinion shafts with good nickel alloys and ultra-high-strength alloy steels, with small size tolerances and strict control of non-metallic inclusion (per ASTM E45). They can meet the requirements of aerospace and defense industries.

Why do You Choose Jiangsu Liangyi for Your Forged Steel Shafts?

Our forged steel shafts can work well in the strictest industrial environments.

Main advantages of our shafts are as follows, but not limited to:

Production & Quality Control for Forging Shafts

We have a strict end-to-end 11-step production and quality control system for every forged steel shaft, thus they can be accordance with international standards and clients’ requirements:

  1. Steel Ingot Casting — Good steel ingot via EAF+LF+VD or VIM+ESR melting for highest purity and cleanliness
  2. Forging Step — 6000-ton hydraulic forging press for good grain flow and material density
  3. Primary Heat Treatment — Normalizing, or solution treatment for stainless steel and nickel alloy grades, to refine grain structure
  4. Rough Machining — To pre-defined sizes in preparation for heat treatment
  5. Secondary Heat Treatment — Hardening and tempering (QT), or age hardening for stainless steel and nickel alloy grades
  6. Mechanical Properties Testing — Tensile, yield, impact, and hardness testing against international standards
  7. Semi-Finishing Machining — Gradually closer to final tolerances
  8. Finish Machining — Precision CNC machining with small size tolerances per clients’ drawing
  9. Drilling & Tapping — All secondary operations per clients’ requirements
  10. NDT & Size Inspection — 100% ultrasonic testing (ASTM A388 / SEP 1921) and size check with MTC 3.1/3.2
  11. Anti-Corrosion & Export Packaging — VCI preservation and secure packaging for safe international delivery

Advanced Melting & Quality Control Standards

Steel melting methods include EAF+LF+VD (Electric Arc Furnace + Ladle Refining + Vacuum Degassing) or VIM+ESR (Vacuum Induction Melting + Electroslag Remelting), chosen based on clients' specific technical manuals.

100% ultrasonic testing is made per SEP 1921 Group III C/c, D/d, E/e and ASTM A388.

Grain size meets ASTM E112-96 Grade 5 or finer.

Non-metallic inclusions are accordance with ASTM E45, A/B/C/D series ≤ 1.0 (heavy) and ≤ 1.5 (thin), or as per clients’ requirement.
